Please join us for our community outreach project in October. Come prepared to work in rugged overgrowth…bring loppers, saws and all proper PPE. We are working on getting a chipper and volunteer crew to help grind up our debris, if anyone has leads on that please let us know. WATER COOLER will be available-- please provide your own water bottle.

We will be guided through the outdoor garden spaces by MOBOT Horticulture Staff + representatives from Arbolope Studio (landscape architects for the project). Inside the building, Jean Ponzi (of Missouri Botanical Garden Earthways Center) will highlight the biophilic elements of the construction, design, and operation where “technology and nature work in harmony to provide a world-class guest experience”. Please RSVP in advance – tour limited to 40 people! We will also honor and award recipients of the 2023 John L. Masek Ornamental Horticulture Scholarship.

Join James Faupel (supervisor of ecological restoration) and Allison Azmy (horticulture coordinator) for a rare opportunity to tour the Litzsinger Road Ecology Center, a 39-acre study center managed by the Missouri Botanical Garden, but not open to the public. See their reconstructed prairies, restored bottomland woodlands, and newly redesigned native landscape beds, in the heart of a residential area during this outdoor walking tour. Learn about how they use their site to work with local educators and conduct research in this hidden gem.
